We do not generally meet in the month of January, being our recess month, so our next Regular meeting takes place in February.

Labour of the evening will be to Open the Lodge, followed by a number of lecturettes read by some of our Brethren.

This will be followed by a ‘Scottish’ theme in the South including a ‘Haggis’ two course catered meal at $15.00 per head. Your earliest notifcation of attendance to our JW or Sec. would be greatly appreciated for the sake of estimating numbers for the night.

The wearing of kilts for this meeting by those who are inclined is encouraged, but by no means compulsary!
Wanneroo Lodge members are reminded of a rehearsal on Monday 20th February at 7:15pm, where your attendance is expected.

David awarded for key lifesaving roles

WHEN Warwick man (V.W.Bro) David Clark joined Mullaloo Surf Lifesaving Club 41 years ago, little did he realise the role he would play in keeping beaches safe.

The community stalwart was a major player in introducing throughout WA rubber duckies, the affectionately named inflatable rescue boats (IRB) which, over the years, saved countless lives.

As Surf Life Saving WA State IRB officer from 1975-1991, he oversaw introduction of the inflatable boats to all clubs, overcoming opposition from traditionalists who saw them as little blow-up toys.

Mr Clark’s first-hand experience of the craft left him in no doubt of their value.

“The inflatable boats are an ideal rescue vessel because they will support quite a number of people,” he said.

“I have experienced that personally several times at Trigg Island and Scarborough during mass rescues.

“One year there were about 200 people in a rip and two of us went in among them, stopped the motor and pulled people on to and into the boat.

“At one stage, there were 25 people hanging on to the outside and inside, and another boat was coming out and taking them back to the beach.”

Mr Clark’s contribution to surf lifesaving, which began as Mullaloo’s ambulance officer in 1971 and led to State appointments, was recognised with the Emergency Services Medal in the Australia Day Honours List.

The retiree was honoured as a “persistent pioneer and a great advocate for a crucial innovation in WA’s rescue services”.

“I was really shocked, honoured and humbled,” he said of the award. “I was proud not so much for myself but for the efforts of a lot of people over a lot of years — and they know who they are.”

He also paid tribute to wife and “stalwart” Coral for her support.

Mr Clark joined Mullaloo after a recruiting campaign at Mirrabooka Senior High School, where his children were pupils.

The club quickly recognised his Air Force skills and he became ambulance officer and helped set up radio communications.

Over the years, he served as club state councillor, chief instructor, IRB and radio officer and vice-president.

“Surf lifesaving is a way of life, and the camaraderie is brilliant,” he said.

LADIES NIGHT 2012

Our Ladies Night for 2012 has been tentatively booked for Saturday 11 August 2012.
The Grand Master, Deputy Grand Master, and even a Past Grand Master have already expressed their intentions to join us on this auspicious night, before the date was even set!
Please make a note in your diaries, and we will have more information once we get Xmas and New Year out of the way....!!

Mon 19 December - Christmas Meeting

December is traditionally our Christmas Meeting, where our wives and partners, family and friends, are also invited to join us at the Festive Board following our usual meeting.

Brethren of the Lodge are reminded of our usual custom in providing gifts for the night.

Any queries should be directed to our Sec, WM or JW.

The Lodge will be opened and closed as swiftly as possible to conduct our general business, then we can retire to the South to enjoy a wonderful festive social evening with our Ladies and guests.

VISITORS: Please note that we would prefer your attendance at 7:15 this evening, so you are most welcome to join us during the opening of the Lodge.

There will be a charge of $20.00 per person to cater for festive fayre.

Mon 28 November - First Degree Lecture

We hope this will be a very informative evening not only for those newly Initatiated Brethren, but act as a reminder for our more seasoned members!

And once again, our Labour of the evening shall be an Initiation Ceremony for one of our lucky Candidates!

It shall also be the first night we receive our new DGIW into Wanneroo Lodge. Though a good friend to many in our Lodge, and a regular visitor, it will be his first time in an official capacity as our new DGIW. We very much look forward to his company of the next year or two.

And as usual, we look forward to receiving ALL visiting Brethren, in making this a truly memorable evening for our newest prospective member.

Mon 26 Sept - 3rd Degree Test Questions

This evening, two of our recently Raised Bro's will be required to answer their Test Questions.

The lodge will also be opened and closed by "the long method".

All Brethren of Wanneroo Lodge are urged by the WM to attend a rehearsal night on Monday 19 Sept, at 7:15pm.

And to also attend on Sunday 24 Sept at 12:00pm to assist with setting up the Lodge and our Festive Board, when a further short rehearsal will follow for the benefit of those Brethren in Office for the first time.

All Brethren are cordially invited to join us for the Installation Ceremony of our Master Elect, Bro K. Aubrey, by W.Bro E. Leembruggen, Installing Officer, together with the Investiture of Officers for the 2011-2012 year.

Wanneroo Lodge members are asked to keep in mind that there will be additional meeting dates prior to the Installation meeting for the benefit of rehearsals, and for the Instruction of younger Brethren. These dates are as follows:

Monday 15th August - 7:00pm
Sunday 21st August - 9:00am

Both the WM and M.Elect sincerely hope Wanneroo Lodge members, and those Officers occupying the Chairs for the Board of Installed Masters, can attend these rehearsals, and by doing so we can ensure a successful evening in August!

It is our present WM's final night in the Chair prior to our Installation next month...watch this space.

Tonights Labour will be to raise the Lodge to the 3rd Degree, and whilst closing the Lodge down through the 3 Degress, the Working Tools of each degree will be given to the WM as they would for the Installation Ceremony.

Good practice for our WPM's in preparation for next month!!

Mon 18th April - Vacant Chair

Due to our regular Lodge evning coinciding with both Easter Monday and ANZAC Day weekend, this meeting will take place a week earlier than usual.

This evenings labour will be the Ceremony Of The Vacant Chair.

The "Empty" or "Vacant Chair" ceremony is used in Masonic lodges to pay tribute to those who did not return from war or military service. It has been used by many lodges at Remembrance Day to pay homage to those Brother Masons who fell during WWI, WWII, and other wars.

Wanneroo Lodge proudly remembers and acknowledges those Brethren, and non-Masons alike, who have served, fought, and sacrifice their lives so freely and honourably during past and present war time.

Scottish Night

Our Scottish Night on Monday 1st March was a real success, and we thank all who attended and took part for helping to make it a fantastic night. A video or two were taken on the night, capturing the "Address To The Haggis", and the "Procession Of The Haggis" (underlined items are linked to YouTube videos, please click them). We appologise for both the rendition of a Robbie Burns work of art, by an Australian with an English name, trying to pull off a Scottish accent, and the attempt of our piper to get a tune out of a local strangled cat! No, seriously, well done to both for their wonderful attempts and work....it was very much appreciated, and all who attended had a wonderful night.

WAC Lodges Calendar

In a similar manner to our downloadable SatNav files, we are now pleased to announce a downloadable calendar that includes all Lodges under the Grand Lodge Of Western Australia, West Australian Constitution (WAC). The calendar file can be found and downloaded from this link The calendar, once downloaded, can be added as an individual calendar within Microsoft Outlook and other calendar/email programs that support the .ics format. Simply download the .ics file from the link, open Outlook (or Outlook Express), go to the Calendar, and drag the file into it. All the entries will appear in a calendar titled "WAC Lodges". All Lodges listed have details of their meeting dates and places, based on their MAIN Lodge meeting nights. Some Lodges have different days for Installation meetings, and may not meet every month. These details are also included under each entry, but they will show as meeting on, for example, the 3rd Wednesday of the month, even if they happen to be in recess on that particular calendar month. This will be indicated within the entry. Just double check what month it is before attending a Lodge that may be in recess on that date! While there is no direct link to the SatNav/maps page, this should prove a very useful addition to your desktop calendar, and with the majority of new mobile phones now being able to syncronise with calendar programs, it means you can keep an up-to-date list of Lodge meetings on your mobile device/phone. The iPhone is a perfect example of this. The list is correct as of Monday 21st February 2011, based on information from the GLWA's own website. If you find any discepancies, please email us and let us know, and we will be happy to update and re-release. Happy Lodge visiting...!!

Our "Quiz Night" is upon us again!

We shall be Opening and closing the Lodge through all three Degrees, then attending the South we shall be having our quiz event.

We welcome all visitors to what we hope to be an interesting, entertaining, and informative evening.

Please not that the invitation to the Quiz is open to Brethren, non-Masons, wives, partners, family and friends also. Bring as many along as you can to make it great social evening.

Recess - Time for a break!

Wanneroo Lodge is now in its "Festive Recess", and meetings shall resume on Monday 22nd February 2010.

The WM, Wardens, and Brethren of Wanneroo Lodge would like to wish all who visited both this site, and the Lodge itself over this last year, all their very best wishes for the festive season and the coming new year.

We look forward to your return, on our return, in early 2010!

Supporting Our Local Community

Wanneroo Lodge is proud to have supported the Davallia Primary School in helping to fund a new Interactive White Board, specifically for the students in a special needs classroom.

Presentation made on Wednesday 27th May 2009. Pictures show W.Bro Edwick (WM) and W.Bro Clarke making the presentation to the Head, teachers, and students of the school.

The complete package includes a white board, projector, software package, white board pen-pointer and a day's training. All in all it was money well spent and a pleasure to witness the students and teacher using this equipment which is a wonderful teaching aid.

All of the Brethren of Wanneroo Lodge are very proud to be able to help in this achievement, and wish all those involved with the school every success in the future, knowing the equipment will be of benefit for many years to come.

Mon 25 May - Lecture Night

This evenings Labour will be a lecture, given in parts by members of the Lodge, relating to the history and duties of the various Lodge Officers.

Mon 22 September - Loge By-laws

The labour of the evening shall be a reading of the Lodge By-Laws. This is an annual requirement by the GLWA, and has to be done at least once during the term of every Master.

The Officers of the Lodge will also be reciting their own Investiture Charges.

INSTALLATION 2008

The Installation of our new Master took place on Monday 25th August 2008 and was a most enjoyable and successful evening, having some 100 Brethren in attendance, including the Grand Master of Western Australia himself, MW.Bro Hibble.

The Wardens, Officers and Brethren of Wanneroo Lodge would like to wish our new Master, W.Bro Edwick, a happy and successful year in the Chair of King Solomon. W.Bro Edwick has previously been Installed as Master of Wanneroo Lodge, and was an original Foundation Member.

We are all sure you will do a wonderful job, and offer our support whenever and wherever possible!

Wanneroo Lodge is now proud to provide a set of download-able files for use with major brand Satellite Navigation systems, and allow the user to navigate to all Lodge room locations that are under the Grand Lodge of Western Australia.

Available are files for use with hand held PDA's and certain mobile devices using mapping software, and files that can be used with and imported into Google Earth. All files are available free of charge.

Lodges locations are also available online using Google Earth.
